The Hang® (plural: Hanghang) is a relatively new and extraordinary sound instrument, developed in Switzerland by PANArt in the early 2000s. Its creators, Sabina Schärer and Felix Rohner, prefer to describe it as a sound sculpture rather than a musical instrument.
Its captivating overall sound arises from its unique shape and the years of research into its material and form. A certain resonance emerges between resounding steel, chaos, harmony, and silence - an invitation to listen, feel, and let go.
In my Hang® recordings, I combine the natural sound of the Hang® with moments of inner peace and meditative depth.
